Think Coffee

Shot:
Was out doing some roaming, shooting, eating and drinking in NYC. I saw this coffee shot and light the look of the logo as well as the name and thought it would make a neat frame. Decided to shoot it bracketed so I could make an HDR Blend out of it.

Lit Up…

Shot:
When roaming around whether it be alone of on a photowalk I always look at up light fixtures and take shot to see if I can get an interesting frame. This one was taken while on a photowalk on the Battery Park Walkway.

Robot Hearts

Shot:
While walking along the Brooklyn Bridge on a nice all day photo adventure I spotted these fun little graphics on the lights and though it would make a great shot.

Technique:
Adjustments used on this one were Clarity, Highlights, Blacks, Whites and Shadows. A very simple edit.

Streaking at the Hotel Eventi

Shot:
A nice long exposure on the streets of NYC… I though the changing colors on the windows in this building would back a nice background for the street scene.

Technique:
Since it was later in the night an ND Filter was needed to get a long enough exposure to get light trails from the moving cars. The edits on this one were the basics Highlights, Shadows Whites and Blacks followed by some messing around with color saturations.

The Rush

Shot:
One of the most driven roads in the area… highway 139 leading up to the Holland Tunnel entrance. There was so many cars moving rather slower than I had hoped and I didn’t get the exact light trails that I wanted. However I do feel that they did give the feel of people all rushing in as the lanes narrow down right at the tunnel entrance.

Technique:
This is just a single frame brought into Lightroom off the of the camera and imported in Lightroom. I used the following adjustments to achieve my final look clarity, highlights, shadows, contrast, black/white clipping and highlight/shadow saturations.
