The Sun Was Peaking Through

Shot:
Another one from my daily walks along the Hudson during lunch. On this day the clouds were out and it was looking like might have a rainy day. By the time lunch came around and I started to walk the sun start to peak through the clouds and provide a nice contrast of color in the frame.

A Familiar View

Shot:
It is hard not to love this spot, it is right near my work, has a great view and great foreground for the cityscape. Whether it is sunrise, during the day or sunset I pretty much always get a good photo from this area. This one is from a afternoon walk while out of lunch break, the sky was blue, the clouds were full and it was so clear across the river I couldn’t help myself even through I promised to myself to be more diverse with my postings.

More Cool Tones

Shot:
As part of my experiments with black and white photography I have definitely tended to lean towards the cool tones versus the traditional de-saturated color image. I think it adds a different feeling to the image that you don’t get out color images. This one of my favorites areas in Brooklyn to shoot the sunset so I figured why not a sunset in black and white.

Love Those Long Expsoures

Shot:
On one of the days of extreme cold I was one of those silly people out there freezing to get a great shot. I remember it being so bitter cold that at one point I had to stop and go into a Starbucks to grab a coffee to warm not only my hands but my insides as well. I did get some great color in the sky, some stretched clouds and smooth waters so I couldn’t complain a bit. I stayed out until I had no feelings left in my hand to even click the shutter. For those who know me I wear the smallest, thinnest gloves so I can have good camera control and totally sacrifice warmth for the love of my photos.
