Natures Beauty in Ecuador

Shot:
A while back I took a trip to visit Ecuador to see the land where my wife was born, meet some family and learn a lot about the culture. Of all the places we went to visit on of my favorite was a nature sanctuary where would get get to see all sort of different local wildlife. The craziest part is before we got in, sitting in the wild just fluttering next to me was this beautiful humming bird with some of the most amazing color.

Being One With Nature

Shot:
My first love in photography was nature, I enjoyed sitting out being one and enjoying the silence. I would get to walk some trails, hike a mountain and take in what this planet had to offer. I would also enjoy time alone getting to clear my head, release any stress from my life as I setup my gear and captured what was in front of me. This photo was taken at Celery Farm in Allendale, NJ. You think in the middle of busy Bergen County, how can you be free of craziness, then you haven’t been to this sanctuary. It is a nice piece of land that is a protected environment for all sorts of animals and birds to thrive in. There is about a 1 mile track around the lake and some nice outlook posts where you can sit and take in the nature all well feeling like you are in a different world.

Who Is Watching Who

Shot:
One thing many people don’t know about me is that I started the majority of my photography shooting birds. I found it very challenging to be quiet and still waiting in the hidden places for the to come out. It was also challenging to catch them in flight, I thought it would be good for practice for sports photography something else I had big interest in. Earlier in my interests I found the Celery Farm a small peaceful bird sanctuary in Allendale, NJ that was known for many different species coming in and out throughout the season. This shot a Blue Heron is one of my favorites I captured out there.

Chased Away

Shot:
I started taking photography seriously a few years back and was more into nature photography, specifically bird photography. I found this great spot in northern New Jersey where I could be outside, hangout and be one with nature and practice my skills. Each time I would go I would meet different people and learn a lot about different birds, seeing different species each time. I soon came to find that this location was one the top bird photography place on the east cost. Throughout my many trips there I found one specie of bird that I really enjoyed sitting and waiting for… the wood duck. This shot here is my best capture yet, not only did I get a male and female in flight, they were being chased away from their spot by a black bird, it was a great action shot.
