Brooklyn Bridge Sky Mural

Shot:
Walking along the Brooklyn Bridgen for the Trey Ratcliff Photowalk Across the USA. It was one of the best sunsets I got to witness.

Technique:
The final image was created using a single image taken from the camera and processed in Lightroom CC. In honor of the walk I started out using one of Trey’s presets on this one and then added my own touch to give a unique look.

Brooklyn Bridge Sunset

Shot:
This is another shot was taken from the Brooklyn Bridge during the Trey Ratcliff Photowalk Across the USA. Earlier in the night it looked like it would be just a plain of day with nothing special in the sky. As the walk progressed it was as if Trey made a phone call and got the sky painted for his walk. As we approached the Brooklyn Bridge walk the sky turned in this amazing display of colors, the clouds were amazing, just reflecting the color and making for an amazing sunset. I forgot my tripod for this walk but still able to capture some amazing shots.

Curacao Sunset

Shot:
Amazing Sunset I got to watch and shoot while staying at the Marriott Beach Resort and Casino in Curacao. One of the best sunset I ever got to shoot.

Technique:
The edit here includes some defaults I usually do like adjusting Blacks, Whites, Shadows, Highlights and Exposure. I also used the Split Toning feature to add the overlay of color to the image as a whole.

September 11 Memorial

Shot:
Along the boardwalk in Jersey City, NJ there is a area that has this great memorial for September 11th which lines up in directly in front of One World Trade Center. I decided to visit this location on a weekend to have as little foot traffic in my shot. Hope you enjoy.

Technique:
This shot was a pretty basic edit in Lightroom starting out with some adjustments of Blacks, Whites, Shadows and Highlights. Then I just a graduated adjustment to modify the exposure of the top half of the frame.

Long Exposure Waterfront

Shot:
The Newport section of Jersey City, NJ provides so many different angles as well as foreground elements to add your NYC skyline photos. I recently started working in that area which has inspired me to bring my camera to the office everyday so I go out shooting early before work, at lunch or even after work.

Technique:
This shot is a composite of two different shots using a simple Photoshop mask to keep the top half of one and the bottom half of the other. The original shots were taking using a 10-Stop ND Filter to allow for the long exposure during the day which is what is needed to get the glass look of the water.
